Cram Session!

Alright everyone,

So this weekend my husband was kind enough to take my son and go visit my in-laws so that I could have a solid 72 hours of writing time. When I started on Thursday night, I had a goal in mind to finish five working chapters, and if possible, do some polishing on a few chapters I've already written. So far, I have three very promising chapters completed, and one more day to finish the last two.

My reason for doing this, is because that writing group I told you all about is meeting this Thursday, and I volunteered to be the first one to share my work. Unfortunately, as I had previously planned, my entire book won't be finished when I present them each with a copy, but by the time we meet again I will have given them the last six chapters and they will be the first living breathing people besides myself and my husband who know at least the skeleton and organs of my very first working novel!

Now I know that there is still a lot of work to be done--continuing with the body analogy, there are still muscles, skin and features to add before my story truly lives, breathes and speaks. But with such a grueling three years behind me, it is only appropriate that I should celebrate whenever the opportunity presents itself.

So, wish me luck on the rest of my weekend. If all goes well, then I will only have six chapters left to draft once my cram session is over. Sometimes I wish I always had this much consistent time to write. But then it probably wouldn't be appreciated as much, and therefore I'd find it far less productive.

So Deb just raved about the chapters of your book that you read to your fam. I am waiting in anticipation until I can read some of it. It sounds like an awesome story. I hope I get to have a sneak peak at some point! We miss you guys!
