Drum Roll Please...

Well, about five minutes ago I handed the first 18 chapters of my book over to a friend to read through. Aside from my husband, she's the only other person who's set eyes on my manuscript. I always feel so vulnerable when I do this. Of course I trust her implicitly, other wise I would have never done it. But still, it's like spilling your guts to someone, before you even know if they like you or not. (Not sure if that makes sense, but it's the closest comparison.)

Anyway, the novel is coming a long. I was so excited to see the thickness of what I printed out to give to my friend. So far it's about 235 pages long, and that's just half way. Now I just need to make sure it's good enough so that whatever agent I send it to over looks the length and reads it anyway.

This whole writing thing is such a bitter-sweet experience, but aside from being a spouse and a mom it's the most satisfying work I've ever done. If nothing else comes of the process of writing this book, I've sure learned a heck of a lot about my capabilities and endurance.

I'd better get back to writing.

Ooo...Ooo...how exciting! I would love to read anything you have, so, if you feel comfortable enough...I would love it.

I don't think that your length would be too much of a problem. I'm sure that with some editing they would probably get it down a little, but most books I've seen out recently have been around 500+ pages. Good luck though!

Oooh---scary--the "letting another person experience what you've been pouring your heart into" thing is frightening.

It's like letting someone else babysit your child for the first time or something.

Good luck!

So is the Twilight series a good read? I've never really gotten into pop literature. I blame it on being an English major. I just feel like I can only read the classics and historical based novels. But because Myers is LDS I really want to read them. Are they worth my time?
